State of the Comm [

ladyrogue79
Okay, so we've been on a kind of hiatus what with my new job and everything. But I don't want to give up on the comm yet. Thus we shall return in March. So be on the lookout.
Enlighten me!

January [
1.9.07 - 9.02am

ladyrogue79
Yeah, hi. Sorry guys. I just started my new job last week and between that and other things, I haven't gotten around to updating.

So the Golden Compass seems to have won. So we'll begin reading it next week.

Again, sorry about all this.
Enlighten me!

Break [
12.5.06 - 8.51am

ladyrogue79
I've decided (since so few people voted) that we're just going to take a break during December. I'll put the book poll back up after Christmas so that everyone will have a chance to vote for January's book (which will be the Fantasy theme, so don't worry). See you all in 2007!
Enlighten me!

Poll [
11.30.06 - 3.36pm
]

ladyrogue79
A reminder to everyone to vote on this month's book. I plan on making a decision on Friday, so get your votes in.
Enlighten me!

I was debating on possibly taking a break for December seeing as anyone in college will be going through exams next month. But then, there's also the holidays which would mean vacation time for some people.

Sections [
11.19.06 - 2.15am
]

ladyrogue79
Er, yeah. I was rather distracted and completely missed a week. Go me.

At this point, just go ahead and finish the play. And once again, posting is open to all members. If you want to discuss something, go right ahead.
Enlighten me!

Mod Post [
11.10.06 - 8.04pm
]

ladyrogue79
Just a reminder, we're trying something new, so there won't be a discussion post. All members have posting access now, so if there's something you want to discuss, go ahead and post an entry about it.
Enlighten me!

Mod Post [
11.5.06 - 7.25pm
]

ladyrogue79
Until further notice, all members can post to the community. I'm currently having problems with my computer and don't know if I'll be able to post the discussion posts right now. Thus if there's anything you want to discuss dealing with this month's book, post a discussion about it. Spoilers for parts we haven't read should be placed under an LJ cut! Also use common sense when posting.

This week's section will be the entrance of the Chorus of Men to the exit of the Commissioner (Thus read from the line "Lead on!" by the chorus to the line "two days from now at dawn"! by Lysistrata)
Enlighten me!

Section One [
10.31.06 - 3.35pm
]

ladyrogue79
Right, sorry this is late. This sinus infection really knocked me out yesterday.
Anyway, we're reading from the beginning to the Chorus's first entrance (don't read past the point the play action says "Chorus of OLD MEN enter to attack the captured Acropolis").
Enlighten me!

November Book [
10.29.06 - 6.39pm
]

ladyrogue79
Right, Lysistrata wins. Also, we're starting tomorrow. Sorry this is such short notice.

If you don't have a copy of the play, it can be found over at Project Gutenberg. Happy reading!
Enlighten me!

[ mood | bored ]

It's Friday! Which means it's time for the end of the week discussion for the Prologue - Chapter 4. What do you think of the book so far? What do you anticipate happening in later chapters?

Read 2 // Enlighten me!

Discussion #1 [
10.4.06 - 12.22am
]

ladyrogue79
[ mood | calm ]

Alright, like I said previously, we're trying something different this month. So this will be our first discussion for Salem's Lot for the Prologue - Chapter 4. Since we're only at the midway point and everyone reads at a different pace, I ask that all spoilers for the section be marked by chapter and put behind a white font tag. So basically, the spoiler would look like this:

Spoiler for Chapter 2
< font color="white" > Spoiler here < /font >

Please consider carefully before posting. Everyone has different ideas about what constitutes as a spoiler.

Enlighten me!

Well, it's Monday. Which means it's time to start our new book, Salem's Lot. We're going to try something new this time so we'll be having two discussions this week, one on Wednesday and another on Friday.

This week's section is Prologue - Chapter 4. Happy reading!
